Chemviron Carbon produces a very large range of granular, pelleted and powder activated carbon including acid washed and impregnated products for use in a wide range of air, gas, water and process applications. These products come in a range of different sizes and pore structures optimised for different applications. Some of the major types are listed below.

Product

Description

Aquacarb

AQUACARB™ water treatment carbons have been developed to offer customers a range of products that will help them to produce the high standard of treated water. AQUACARB ™ range of water treatment carbons are manufactured from coconut shell and coal.

AQUACARB™ AGC

A range of impregnated carbons, primarily for Point of Use and Point of Entry filter systems.

CAL

CAL® and CAL® I carbons are granular activated carbons specially designed for the purification and decolourisation of aqueous and organic liquids in fixed or moving beds.

CANECAL

CANECAL® carbons are granular activated carbons specially designed for the treatment of cane sugar liquors. These carbons combine a superior decolourising capacity, resulting from their unique pore structure, with a pH controlling ability, as a result of the incorporation of magnesite bonded into the carbon granules.

CARBSORB

CARBSORB® range are coal based granular activated carbons designed to provide cost effective solution for water and liquid phase applications. CARBSORB® offers a number of operating advantages over low cost Liquid phase carbon that exist in the market.

CELLCARB

CELLCARB™ is a new range of activated carbons specifically designed for gas and fuel storage applications. The products are optimised for specific applications where there is a requirement for enhanced storage and delivery.

CENTAUR

CENTAUR® is a radically enhanced type of activated carbon that combines traditional adsorption capacity with dramatically increased catalytic power, offering an exciting and superior alternative to impregnated activated carbons and creating a whole series of new possibilities for use.

CPG - LF

CPG® LF carbons are acid washed agglomerated coal based granular activated carbons specially designed for the purification and decolourisation of aqueous and organic liquids where low ash and low leachables content are required.

CYCLECARB

CYCLECARB are a range of granular reactivated carbons supplied on a service basis for wastewater treatment and other non-food industrial liquid phase applications.

ENVIROCARB

ENVIROCARB™ are a range of impregnated and non-impregnated activated carbons designed for air and gas purification applications. The base materials are produced by high temperature steam activation of coal or coconut which produces a porous material with a high surface area allowing it to adsorb a wide range of organic compounds.

FILTRASORB

FILTRASORB® are a renowned range of Granular Activated Carbons, which are installed in over 1,000 water treatment plants in Europe, the United States and Asia. FILTRASORB® carbons are produced by steam activation of selected grades of bituminous coal that have first been pulverised then agglomerated.

FLUECARB

FLUECARB™ are a range of steam activated powder activated carbons used for the removal of dioxins and mercury in the following types of incineration facilities: Municipal Solid Waste, Industrial and hazardous waste.

GOLDCARB

The GOLDCARB™ range of carbons have been developed to offer customers a choice of products for the recovery of gold in CIP/CIL systems and that can maximise gold loading with rapid adsorption kinetics.

HGR

HGR® are-impregnated activated carbons designed for mercury removal from different gases.

MILITARY CARBONS

A comprehensive range of activated carbons for both personnel and collective protection. Chemviron/Calgon have extensive R&D laboratories in the UK and the US for the development of novel carbons for new and challenging applications, with numerous development projects in progress to meet different TIC challenges and standards.

NUCLEARCARB

A range of Coconut Shell and Bituminous Coal, impregnated and base carbons, for the removal of radioactive gases.

PULSORB

PULSORB® carbons are pulverised activated carbons produced by high temperature, steam activation or chemical activation of selected grades of bituminous coal, wood and coconut. These carefully controlled processes develop a range of properties, in a variety of different grades, suitable for all applications where powdered carbons are required.

RESPCARB

The Respcarb® range includes a selection of base and impregnated coconut carbons used for the removal of gases as specified by EN14387.

SGL

SGL® carbons are granular activated carbons specially designed for the purification and decolourisation of many aqueous and organic liquid liquors. SGL® combines a high pore volume, optimum particle size distribution and surface area with a superior hardness for longer bed life.

SOLCARB

A range of specialist activated carbons offering solutions for catalyst and other specialist applications that demand specific properties.

URC

URC® 12x30 (Universal Respirator Carbon) is an impregnated granular activated carbon for multi-purpose use in respirators. It is intended to be incorporated into suitably designed respirator canisters to provide protection in accordance with European Standard EN 14387: 2004. In general terms, URC® 12x30 provides protection against organic vapors (A type), specified inorganic gases (B type), acid gases (E type) and ammonia (K type). It also functions effectively against these agents under the American designated NIOSH test conditions.

ZORFLEX

ZORFLEX® ACC Activated Carbon Cloth (ACC), originally invented by the British Ministry of Defence for inclusion in chemical warfare suits, has now been developed by Charcoal Cloth International for use in many odour control situations including industrial, medical and domestic applications.
