Activated carbon has been used for many years for the treatment of swimming pool water to remove organic matter, chloroform and ozone. Recently Chemviron Carbon has introduced Centaur CDC a special carbon with catalytic properties that is very effective for the removal of chloramine / bonded chlorine in swimming pools. Chloramines are well known as contaminants which cause poor air quality and irritation of eyes.
