Chemviron Carbon: Odour control with Activated carbon

Home > Applications > Air Treatment > Odour control

Activated carbon is widely used for odour control / removal at a number of stages in municipal sewage treatment. Odours can develop at a number of points in municipal waste water treatment plants where sewage is agitated or where sludge accumulates. This includes pumping stations, head works, trickling filters, digesters and at sludge handling and storage areas. Chemviron Carbon can provide a range of activated carbon solutions for odour control.

Centaur® is an high activity non-impregnated activated carbon designed specifically for its improved properties in odour removal from sewage treatment applications. This patented product is unique in that it provides a high capacity for H2S removal without requiring chemical impregnants. Due to the catalytic nature of this product it can also be regenerated in-situ through a defined water washing process. Centaur® can be supplied in the standard Protect V70, V90 and V120 units or specialized water re-generable versions.

Chemviron Carbon also supply IVP, an alkali impregnated activated carbon for the air containing a very high organic load. This product can be caustically regenerated.

SOLCARB™ KS3 is a high performance impregnated activated carbon pellet specially developed for the removal and containment of hydrogen sulphide, organic mercaptans (thiols) and certain organic sulphides from air. It exhibits rapid adsorption kinetics and a high loading capacity. Due to it’s superior adsorption capacity SOLCARBTM KS3 is not regenerated but used on a one way basis.
